November’s Mouth-Friendly Recipe 2011

With the holiday season fast approaching, sovaldi many of us may be trying to watch what we eat. If you have a weakness for mashed potatoes but aren’t fond of the carbs, health here is a tasty alternative that is packed with smile-friendly nutrients.

Mashed Cauliflower

Ingredients:

  • Raw Cauliflower – a medium head makes about a pound of florets
  • ¼ cup of butter, milk, cream, or the secret ingredient you use in your favorite mashed potato recipe
  • Optional: minced garlic (a clove or two); garlic powder (1/2 to 1 teaspoon); cheese

Preparation:

Break the cauliflower up into florets. Steam or microwave until tender – a fork should easily pierce it. Add remaining ingredients to the cauliflower and use a hand blender to mix until you reach your desired consistency.
